  • We work in various areas including literacy, expressive and receptive language, speech sounds, adolescent speech therapy, stuttering, social communication and play skills.

  • It is never too early to consider speech therapy for your child. If you notice any signs of communication differences, we recommend seeking an assessment as early intervention can make a significant difference.

  • During our initial speech pathology assessment, our therapists will interact with your child through play and structured activities to evaluate their communication skills. We will also collect information from you regarding your child’s development and any concerns you may have.

  • No, you don’t need a referral to see us at Sprout Learning. You can directly schedule an appointment us by emailing hello@sproutlearning.com.au

  • A therapy plan is tailored to your child’s unique needs based on our assessment as well as your priorities. It outlines specific goals, therapy methods, outcome measures and session frequency.

  • The duration of therapy varies depending on your child’s needs and progress. Some children may need a few months of therapy, while others may benefit from ongoing support.

  • Our clinic is open Monday to Friday, from 8am to 6pm. We also offer flexible appointment times to accommodate busy family schedules.

  • Yes, rebates may be available through private health insurance, Medicare and NDIS. Our administrative team can help you understand and navigate these options.

    Medicare - Allied Health Initiative for Chronic Disease Management Items. A rebate of approximately $55.00 is available for up to 5 appointments when a Chronic Disease Care Plan has been completed by a GP.

    Children may also be eligible to access Medicare items under the Helping Children with Autism program provided they meet the requirements. A rebate of approximately $77.00 will be provided for up to 20 treatment services.

    Private Health Funds - Speech Pathology services can be rebated if you have cover with your private health fund. You will need to contact your fund directly to determine the rebate amount.

    NDIS - The National Disability Insurance Scheme can cover the cost of your child’s care once you have been approved for services. Please contact us if you would like further information regarding this. We work with both self-managed and plan managed NDIS participants.

  • At present, we are currently offering childcare, kindergarten and school visits. Unfortunately, we are no longer offering home visits.

  • Yes, we provide telehealth sessions for families who prefer remote support or cannot visit us in the clinic.

  • Therapy sessions are designed to be engaging and fun, incorporating activities that target specific speech and language goals. Our therapists use games, toys, books, and interactive activities.

  • Your speech pathologist will provide strategies and activities to practice at home, reinforcing the skills learned during therapy sessions.

  • All our Speech Pathologists hold a Bachelors or Masters degree in Speech Pathology. However, this is just the beginning! All our team have extensive experience and participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with the latest evidence based practice - ensuring the best outcomes for your child.

  • Please bring with you any previous allied health assessment reports, a list of your concerns and any relevant medical history. Bringing your child’s favourite toy or book can also help them to feel more comfortable.

  • We regularly discuss your child’s progress with you and provide written reports. You will also notice improvement in their communication skills, participation in activities and confidence in everyday situations.

  • All children who first attend Sprout Learning are required to have an assessment unless your child has recently had a comprehensive assessment from a certified practising speech pathology in the last 12 months.

    This session is important as it provides an opportunity for the clinician to review your family and childs goals and discover your child’s unique strengths and challenges.

  • Yes, it’s important to have your child’s hearing checked to rule out any hearing issues that might affect their speech and language development.

  • The duration your child will be on our waiting list is dependent upon a multitude of factors including clinician availability, family’s availability as well as whether the therapist and child are the right fit. Please give us a call to discuss any specifics or if urgent assessments are required for school or funding purposes.
